ICCE is a UK-based charity with more than thirty-five years experience with environmental programmes in developing countries - especially in Africa. It has undertaken consultancy services for many international organisations work for UNESCO, IUCN, WWF International, the European Commission, and a variety of governments and aid agencies. Practical projects have included the construction of Mobile Information Units, the installation of Environmental Publishing Units, and the production of hundreds of educational resources including CD presentations, videos, posters and booklets. Several of ICCE's popular audiovisual programmes are now available as PowerPoint Presentations on CD-Rom; details can be found on the EE Resources page.

Following funding difficulties in 1998 ICCE substantially reduce the scale of its operations including the closure of its Training Department; but it continues to work closely with a number of NGOs in East and Central Africa.

A number of the technical support services previously carried out by the Centre (CD production, Image Bank and publishing) are still available through ICCE's paretnere Conservation Education Services;

The ICCE Photolibrary now operates as an independent unit.
